I fitted a 1kz to an 84 hilux that had the 3y petrol engine. Not sure about diesel mounts buteast to move. Factory mounts were very close to bolt in but a little too wide apart. Had mounts moved and engine/R151 gearbox fitted($650) using standard gearbox cross member in factory location. Had to modify one of the power steering hose connections on the passenger side of the engine to clear the chassis. Would probably use the R151 cross member next time as I think it moves the whole engine/gearbox back about another inch. This will give a bit more radiator clearance. Talk to Lachlan at Off Road Industries (chaos). There are a couple of photos of my silver ute on his website. Had Quickfit Auto Sports in Hornsby work out the wiring looms ($550). Pretty straight forward swap and the engine goes unreal. Heaps of torque. 10 times better than my old 2.4 deisel 4 runner with turbo fitted and fuel pump mods.
