The Coorong

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Ok, I returned from Victoria yesterday and we come home via the Great Ocean Road, Robe, Meningie etc. I obviously passed through the coorong and saw two traks of interest. the 32 mile trak and the 42 mile trak. I wanted to go have a look see but time didn't really allow it and nor did the weather. I would be interested in getting a group together and having a look.

Anyone interested?

Dave.

Where abouts were the tracks Dave? Even Meningie is a fair drive from Adelaide.

I think you can drive all the way from Robe to Meningie on the beach if you want to.

If they didn't dredge the Murray Mouth, you should be able to drive from Beachport through to Goolwa

42 Mile Crossing
Tea Tree Crossing are the only 2 official crossing points to get onto the Coorong.

Driving the Coorong is also subject to the breeding times of the local wildlife and from memory, I think it's pretty much closed from November through to February ??

Great for fishing.....catch BIG Mulloway down there.

Myself and Moose are contemplating a run to Beachport / Robe in Sept / Oct if the other halves let us out to play......will keep the rest of you guys in the know, when we find out if our leashes can be extended that far !!
