Hey all. I'm going to do a 50mm body lift for my Diesel swb GQ and just need to know what parts i need for this mod. I'm thinking of using steel for the blocks. what diamiter do the blocks have to be and what bore size for the bolts? Any other info would be grately apprecated.
I am in the same bout about to do a 50mm body lift too my shortie.
Are the rear two bolts with captive nuts the only ones that are going to need drilling ? I have no access to a oxy or other heating device. How much of a drama is this going to cause for me... Are these the only two bolts that are going to cause probs ?
Also there a dude in the Tojo section who has done a 80 series BL step by step guide w/ photos. He lifted one side at a time with his Hi Lift and a bit of wood on the sills. (Obviously the bolts on the other side were on but loose) Is this going to cause too many dramas if I do it this way ?
I know it is a relatively simple process but if I ballz something up, the car is a daily driver, so I basically can't shag anything up.

yes.

I didnt heat mine, hit them with a cold chisel, they moved... all are different though. Everyother bolt is just nut and bolt, piss easy.

nope.
Always have a spare car there for a quick run to the shop if need be for different sized bolts.
