Hi all was just looking at a pajero manual on disc that i got off ebay & found a page on the rear diff in a 2001 model paj that has the best of both worlds LSD & diff lock in the one carrier. Not sure if this was available in Australia or not? Secondly is the centre transplantable into an NK diff? I also found that locked drive systems also have a similar set up however not sure if this is availabe for a paj.
Thanks in advance for any info.

The Gen 3 IRS factory rear locker / lsd comb was not available for Oz models.
There were factory diff locks / lsd combo's available as an option for Oz NH-NK Gen 2 Paj's. The latter 3.5 V6 units are very rare and hard to find. The factory locker option was dropped by Mitsu Oz for the NL model onwards.
The Gen 3 rear locker won't fit into the earlier live axle versions the diff centre is completely different.
The clutch packs in the factory lockers do 2 things :- help to provide smooth locker engagement as they are a very low pressure air locker and to provide some lsd function on the bitumen.
The locker has about 6 clutch packs compared to the normal lsd's 10 for the live axle versions. For the Gen 3 IRS models they are a Torsen type lsd (gear/viscous coupling).
Also Locked Drive Systems don't make anything for the Pajero.

(are you related to Bin Laden???)
as Frank says the only locker that will fit the Nks are the factory ones, ie the 3.ol or the 3.5l depending upon what you have.
The 3.ol versions are more common than the 3.5l ones. It took me 18 mths to find a 3.5l locker at the wreckers.
But all may not be lost yet. ARB has my spare 3.5l diff & they will look at the possibility of doing a rear locker for the 3.5l & 2.8TDI to compliment the front locker that they have only just unleashed onto the market.
cheers
