Wanted - an honest opinion!

Post by shortgq »

i want to sell an 81 swb mq patrol, but i am not going to give it away so i'm after an opinion on a fair figure to ask on the following vehicle..... (actually the one to the left, my avatar)

-1981 mq swb patrol
- l28 and 4 speed box
- pto winch
- new allor bay with 2 spotties
- twin fuel tanks
- good tyres all round
- good sound system and am cb
- good interior
- white with little rust, and any showing has been repaired
- mechanically good but some squeks etc in front suspension..

so i guess i'm asking what would u guys par for this vehicle registered in queenland and unregistered how much would the price drop?? if u were in the market

Oddball question, i know.... but i want to find out what the market would be willing to pay....

Thanks...

ps.. if i can't sell it, it may become a garden gnome until i can perhaps mod it (v8, etc) and turn to comp car.... ooohhh especially mud runs!!!!!

you won't get much for it on here, but put $4K on it in the trading post, make a point of the winch and'good' tyres as this is a selling point. Also buy a grease gun and lube up the shackles
Style Side Maverick Ute
4.2 Turbo Diesel
35" Simex
4" Procomp suspension
2" Bodylift
Fibreglass Stuff....

I would have to agree with andrew, 4k tops, you may be better to part out the winch and bar and sell the rest, you may get more that way.

What sets apart MQs is not the accessories, rather the condition of the vehicle. If the mechanics and as aesthetics are good there is no reason why you can’t ask 5k for it and the fact that you have the winch is more basis for you to ask that price. True it isn’t a SD33T, but if it’s how you describe you may get $4300 out of original 5k that you asked. You did better, the buyer thinks that they got a deal and you made at least 300 more than you would of with a 4K start.

id reccomend you dont let the rego run out tho, i got an 85 5 speed diesel in excellent condition for $3500, because it was rego'd in qld and im in wa.

Rego is THE biggest selling point when you dont have it.
