Just wondering if any one has tried this, putting a double cardan on each end off their rear (or front) prop shaft. There's much talk about a single unit on the rear and rotating the diff upwards but not about twins.
My project involves having a permanent 7.5 degrees of shaft angle relative to the drive flanges aswell as having 165 mm of (parrallel) offset between the two flanges hence the need for DC's at each end though it's for a rear shaft so the angle changes won't too great compared to a front shorter shaft.
Apparently Hilux live axle front DC's are go? I've got a front shaft from my old LN65 bus sitting around somewhere. Just need to source another unit in good nick.
Also I've noticed my VF1A chain driven transfer has a different rear output flange to the front output flagne which accomidates a double carden DC joint where the rear flange wouldn't as it stands.
Does anyone know first hand if the two flanges are interchangeable on the trasnfer box?
Cheers

Twin double cardan joint on rear prop-shaft.

no reason why it won't work.
the hilux DC's are the pick over the 60 series, they handle much greater angles and are every bit as strong.
you don't need to go changing flanges to suit the double cardan joint flange, just re-drill your existing flanges to suit. the steel of the flanges is pretty soft and drills easily.
cheers
