Location: perth - for the time being, Leaving when I can afford it
Im doing a shackle, body and suspension lift - all 2 inches
That'll get me running 35's
If thats not your cup of tea go spring over
That'll get you 4 inches straight up - but apparently you have to change your steering set up
That'll shackles, body and suspension all up
That'll cost me around $1500-$2000
Go the 60's!!!!You got a 2h?
can't kill 'em!!!

You can't kill a 60... Believe me... I've tried...
In the end, you can... drive a gu now... still want a 60

Birlo,
With the extended 2 inch shackles, I made a set up myself. And to look at the snake racing ones, I think mine look a bit stronger too. I just bought the metal, cut and drilled in all the right places, then tack welded it so that it was all square and inline. Then took them to the local welder for the finish off welds. Cost me total, bout $140-150 by memory including new hitensile bolts for them. Good idea to check the bushes too, might need redoing.
As for the suspension lift, I temporarily got my springs reset 2inches with and extra leaf(couldn't afford new set up), was quite a bit rougher ride though and hadn't really had the chance to fully test the off road capabiliies, (after I hyraulic'd the engine!!! Still rebuilding the engine now ) that only cost me $120 (by memory) per pair of springs to be reset + added leaf. I did these at the same time to fit 33's under mine.
With my other 60(chev 6.2), it has SPOA and had a few leafs taken out to increase flexibility, was done before I bought it, so not sure which leafs to take out. Has loads of body roll on tarmac due to the softness of springs too.
My choice would definitely be SPOA but to have it done cost about $3000 when I last enquired bout 18 months ago. Snake racing hi-steer kit would be best advised for this as well, not sure if that was included in price.
Hope that was of some help.
Brighty.

Get some better suspension
did'nt say anything about cheap .....wild is what I'm after, I have done abit of work with coils now but not leaf.
I'm thinking quarter ecliptic on the rear and maybe coil conversion on the front, but not to sure what works well, or better etc.
I would to run 38's or 40's, not to sure on that yet either. but I want to keep the ride height low as posible.
mmm Brighty...your rig white with a green stiker on it?

is this gunna be a 60 or a tube buggy????
For 1/4 eliptic, am thinkin it'd have to be pretty light in the rear end??? Never thought of do'n that though, might work!!!! Sounds like you got the $$$$, you do it and tell me how it goes, if good, I'll do it to mine!!!
4speed...check PM for more info
