injection union location

Post by Daisy »

Anyone know which way its supposed to be??

I have a union line from wreckers (puttin together my 4.2) and it has a 7th connector which i believe is the return to the injector. Which way is it supposed to be and what does the 7th connector hook up to? as i cannot find any pipes to hook it up to where it ends up? is there a rubber hose to be ordered from nissan for that??

If i didnt make sense let me know and i will take a picture.

Prolly put up one anyway if i dont get any responses.

Cheers

on my mq the 7th outlet is the reture pipe, its just a piece of tube sticking out that a rubber hose connects to and that runs to the top of the fuel filter, your may be special or different (pics would be great)

the reason i asked.. was because my old 2.8 has the return at the middle of the union line straight to the injector pump. I assumed that the 4.2 would be similar.. Gregorys book makes no mention of the union rails so im just asking everyone what it looks like under their bonnet.. where the 7th connection goes to?? whether it be to the diesel primer pump or the injector pump?

2nd cylinder should have 3 pipes. One goes back to the red cap on pump closest to motor.
Other red cap has rubber hose back to fiewall and then line back to tank.

Your spill tube looks like its off a real early GQ.
I would cut off your No 7 connecer, curve tube and join with hose to aforementioned red connection on pump.

thanks bazzle for clearing this up with me.

Pretty much what i suspected. as i bought this part from the wrecker and obviously the wrong one.

Will take it back and swap over for the correct one now that i know what to look for '2nd cylinder havin 3 pipes'

Yes can confirm that TOM--its the wrong spill tube. I'm just putting the CYL head back on mine now, and the spill tube looks nothing like the one you have. A short rubber tube joins the spill tube to the injection pump connector---the one facing the block as viewed from the top.
