Straighten the arm like this.
Put a jack under the ball and then apply heat to the lower half of the arm where it is quite thick and strong.
Keep it simple

you can't space it up as the centre section of it also forms the upper knuckle bearing spindle.

it appears it is possible to press the ball out (I just went and tried it on an old cut off arm) and flip it, but it's not quite that simple - there is a significant swage holding the ball in the arm which must be sheared off before the ball can be pressed out. the inner shaft diameter of the ball in the arm is 16mm so use a mandrel about 15mm diameter to shear off the swage, once the swage is sheared off the ball presses out pretty easily. once the ball is out, it will be necessary to extend the length of the shaft by about 5 - 7mm by building up some weld then turning the extension down to the diamter of the rest of the shaft - this extra length can then be mushroomed over in the press once the ball is pressed back in from the top side.

ideally you would use a new ball, or have the hole sleeved and bored for a tapered tie rod end.

even more ideally, invest in crossover steering. it's safer and stronger.

Ive replaced the the balls on worn J arms for one of the wreckers and fitted new non genuines balls it takes quite a bit to get the balls out . They need to be drilled with a hardcut/cobolt drill so the swage/peen has some where to colaspe when pressing the ball out. Have fitted the ball from the other side for hi-lifts and has worked quite well.
