Outing for SA peeps 15/8/04

Post by Dangerous Dave »

Well its finally time. Yes the outing up north to morgan quarry. At the moment it has been set for the 15 of this month. Finer details still to come. Can people reply to this post with expressions of interest. Also if anyone has knowledge on how to get there let me know too, as i haven't even looked at a map yet.

Cheers

Yep, I'm interested Dave. :D

AFAIK you head to Blanchetown and turn off at the servo? There are directions on Out of Adelaide IIRC.

Have you been down to see what Sheidow's like at the moment? I imagine it would be very interesting....

Sheidow is stupid. Mike and I went down there last week before the big rains hit and we got stuck. It took us from 9:00pm until about 1:30am to get out. I'm going for a look see today. Anyone else interested in the trip?

How high is the creek? I would have thought the whole place would be flooded?

Morgan trip

Post by Benszook »

Unfortunately I wont be able to come up as I have just pulled the rocky off the road to rebuild the gear box and diffs (hopefully change to Hilux diffs). The way to morgan is you head out of adelaide on Main North road/sturt highway, thru elizabeth and muno para. You turn left to freeling off of the sturt highway just out of gawler and then right straight away. You follow the road into kapunda and turn right at the end of the main street (by now there should be signs to morgan). Follow this road to morgan. As you get into morgan and just go past the 80 sign turn right on the blanchetown road and 500m on your left up the road will be a sign to morgan dump follow this road in and you will find the quarry from here there are tracks everywhere so just look around.

Don't go thru blanchetown and cut across it will take you at least an extra half an hour. Have fun and I wish I could come.

Cheers

It has to be Sunday as i have work on Saturday from 08:00 to 23:17. It looks like no one from here will be going. Whats wrong with you all? It will also be an early start on Sunday morning as its about a two and a half hour drive from down here to Morgan.

Ah well i'll post final details on thursday or friday so that if you all change your mind at the last minute you know what the deal will be.

Turned out to be a bad weekend for me- other things I'd forgotten about are on next weekend. If it wasn't so far away I probably could have gone.

If it's as good as it sounds we'll have to organise another trip when more people can go. ;)

Jarrad are you going, and who' taking pics and vids this time?! :D

That sounds like a plan! We will probably still be having fun at 2:00 but thats cool if you want to cruise around that time. So we'll make it for 7:00 parafield bunnings car park. I'll make sure that this is ok with everyone else and confirm it with you.

Ok steve,

These are the final arrangments, set in stone. After talking to all the guys coming along from down south we wont be leaving Reynella till 7:30am on Sunday morning. We will be at Bunnings Parafield by 8:30.

I hope this is still ok. I have to work late on saturday night and the other guys coming aren't as young as you and i so they need a little longer to get going in the mornings. LOL. If they read this i'm in shit!!!!

Hello.

Really dissapointed in the turn out from you northern blokes! Yeah we went and it was pretty good. So much space to check out we really didn't have enough time with just one day. It would make a perfect weekend get away as there is a caravan park right next door to the traks.

There are pics and a video but i've given up trying to up load them.
