ASCC Round 3 LCMP 4/5 September 2004

Post by nat34 »

Hi all - just doing a bit of organising of the "Officials" for the weekend.

At this point we are having 6 "Stage Managers" and we are needing around 18 helpers for over the weekend.

If you are interested and can help out and want to be involved with the ASCC - please pm - ring mobile or email me.

Dates are - 4/5 September 2004. Last round for LCMP.

Requirments for helpers are - Happy, smiling people (No Jake remember you are competing!!)

Preferably with a vehicle that can be driven around or used for recovery.

C U All there.

Have to correct you there Nat, I've just found out that Jake is not competing and is being employed as a 'griddy' for Fester :D :D

Seriously though (no I was) if you can help out don;t hesitate, ASCC has a really great atmosphere, with some hardcore tracks to match, help to support the events that provide so much entertainment (hey Blake...) :D

So is there going to be some difficult tracks this time?
not being smart, but last time all the tracks were driven very easily for the top 10 or so rigs and it didn't really allow anything to differentiate the vehicle driver combo's, it basically came down to luck.
 It became boring in some instances to watch because the tracks never tested the vehicle capabilities (although a few whinged about some of the off camber stuff). Can the tracks be made heaps harder or at least a few extreem tracks or bonus stages, just putting a slippery climb into a track is boring , may as well be a winch challenge. :x
And can the officials learn what a stopped vehicle looks like not just one whinding up bias tyres at idle, or do you have a minimum speed limit for the course?
Also is it possible to have the recovery vehicles equipped for recovery rather than there just as anchor points :?

Its a great - well run event, but needs to evolve a little bit as everyone has raised the bar over the last few months.

I do agree about the officials not realising about the time in takes for the backlash etc to take up [got done for that a few times last round] but i reckon BB's rig is in a class above the rest of us so the tracks probably seem pretty tame to you guys.

I know i had some pretty serious pucker factor happening and we were one of the few who didn't do any damage, from the comments i heard it sounded like most thought the tracks were a bit on the too hard side and were worried about doing damage.

Dunno about the others but i reckon the tracks are just about right, be interested to hear what others think!!

Also be interested to hear what the spectators think !!

Totally agree with Big Red, I think the tracks were just about right. And I intend to enter this time, because I was impressed with the last round.

From a spectators view you don't want the tracks so hard that every 2nd truck has to be recovered, it slow it down too much.

you are right about the damage thing shane, but if you picked the right line there was little chance of damage if any, the tracks just need to be a little more technical in some areas. I watched you guys drive some stuff so easy that i thought it was the access track you were driving and not the actual course. Maybe just make the approch to certain obstacles harder by forcing some funny lines, which can really seperate the better teams.

It's difficult to cater for such a wide cross-section of vehicles and abilities. Nobody wants to watch recoveries but people like to see teams being pushed to their limits. I suppose the competition comes down to the most refined team rather than the most capable. Whether that's what the spectators want I'm not sure but it sounds like most of the competitors are happy with the current format. Personly, I like to see some action. And I'm sure that's what drawns in the spectators. But regardless, we will be threre trying to keep up :D

OK scotty it look like me and you are goin to have to do some serious padding.

There seems to be a noticeable absence of 82zuk and Mrs.Teamzook trash talkin and padding on this thread. :finger: Come on gals we need some interesting chat ;) Or are you both gettin your rigs ready to compete?

From what i hear mandy has a pretty capable zook, maybe i should spot for her and beat you both. ;)

or we could just put a lsd in BeeBee's 33mtr's and enter production class, pretty much unbeatable i reckon?

Hay Nat
i would like to be one of the assistants but the only problem is i think every one would spit it if they were recovered by a Pajaro :)

Mandys ment to have a good Zook i remember the last itme it went out didnt break anythink between the front yard and back :) Spose tho when it did break down it would fit on scotts tray
Cut down Sierra cab on extended LWB chasie running, Hilux front and Bundy back, with a 4AGZE should be finished about umm soon. A 60 Series work truck and some go fast toys too.

As for Rhys, well all I can say is at least I DON"T own a POOJABBA.
I'd rather have 2 zooks that are not running than admit to owning a Pajero. :finger:

Anywayz I guess Mrs Teamzook & I will see you guys early Saturday morning at scrutineering.
