Lookin for some led taillights for the new tray. I know this is a Tonka but can't find the thread
I looked on the narva website but can't find anything I want. I have seen the lights before with everything in the one unit but they aren't on the site.
Need to find dimensions of the lights before building my new tray.
other chioes would be round ones, or rectangle ones, but then youd have one for the indicator, one for tial, and one for stop, but i take it, thats not what you wanted.
That light looks the goods. Doesn't have a reverse on it though so what would I run??? Can a floodlight be legal signaling reverse and also adding light???
Im pretty sure a flood light can be legal for reverse but must only be connected to reverse (eg no switch in circuit to flash people behind) You could either go to Northern Trailers at hexham (the old JT Fossey place opposite hexham railway station) or if your in no rush let me know the part number and the price your been quoted i`ll see if i can get it cheaper from my mate for you.
If you get stuck and have a 4m ladder let me know come and look what we have on our fridge trailer one day when its home ???? usually every 2nd week but
On my new tray I will be running the hella LEDs as above and running 2 of the Hella work lights 1533, they are almost a perfect match for height and look awsome sitting beside the tail lights.
And I discussed running them as reverse lights with WA dept of transport and said they were fine as long as they only had 55watt globes, werent aimed too high and were only active in reverse.

H&M, Ingrams sell them & I thing Ashdowns sell them. These guys are the people who wholesale to the trade but they will sell them over the counter unless you know a sparky then he can get them for trade.
They were about $280 each retail last time I looked.
The local shop should be in the phone book.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.
Well they are all following you...
No they ain't, I'm just in front...............

a while back i asked a dude at hella about the reverse.. "no manufacturer here or overseas, produces a LED in a reverse
light.
The reason being, that it will NOT meet Austrailan Design Rule regulations.
You may also find putting any LED on the back of your car, will produce a
increased flashing rate of the indicators, due to the lack of resistance in
the circuitry."

If this happens wire in a standard bulb and hide it and use this as a cheap relay have done this on mates bikes before we just put the bulbs(painted black) in under the seat
Not quite sure on the truth in my info but i was told if using led's if you run an electronic flasher can you wont get an increase in the flashing rate
high n mighty wrote:So they provide stop, blinker.... Tail aswell??? Where is the reverse lights??
They are stop tail and blinker. No reverse yet. Reverse lights aren't mandatory
Overkill, reverse lamps are mandatory - ADR1 came into effect 1/1/72 when the second addition ADRs became effective. You can have white or amber and you can have a pair or single unit. ADR1 changed on 1/7/89 when the third addition came into effect. Revese lamps must be white, in a pir or singular.
H&M If your vehicle was built after the 1/1/72 you must have reverse lamps but they can be in the indicators as you said. After 1989 then they must be white. Where do you live? Most regitering authorities have a book regarding regiatration requirements which can be had for a fee.
I have attatche a copy of the NSW requirements which mirror the ADRs. Its for heavy vehicles but is exactly the same for all vehicles for the main lighting positions. It just has additional requirements for the sise of a heavy vehicle.
Don't ask me, ask them. I'm just runnin for my life myself.

ausyota wrote:You can get a flasher relay that is a "non load sensitive electronic" model. Should solve the flash rate probs. Paul.
Im only going off the info i have for the motorbikes but a relay was going to cost $50+(was load adjustable) so we wired in a bulb to use instead kept the flash rate the same im pretty sure most people can use a soldiering iron and make it for less .just an idea thats all
ADR 1 - Reversing Signal Lamps.
Lamps that are switched on automatically whenever reverse gear is selected and the ignition is on to signal the driver's intention to reverse and to aid the driver in reversing manoeuvres at night. These lamps must only operate when the vehicle is in reverse gear and must be amber or white.
SE 13/00 Lighting and Light-signalling Devices issue date 31/01/2003
H&M, the guidelines are the same for all categoreis of vehicles. All the measurements for the main lights are identical. If you have access to the ADR's read ADR 13 it doesnt differntiate between heavy and light vehicles. The reason I sent that to you is because it is easier to read and has diagrams to give you a clearer picture of the explanation. ADR 1 does not give an explanation on position of the reverse lamp, just the lighting requirements.
ADR13 gives you all the positions.
