One thing i will say to you though is my car is still quiet fast down hill but not mega fast - I think the 33s and larger exhaust (free flowing) has been a bigg killer on engine braking, but as I have mentioned its not a running pace anymore its more of a joggin pace with 4.11s in the diff and maxi crawler gears in the transfer it would be even with 38s
I like this idea of better engine braking for my TJ 03 auto..(with cruise.) I found out about it by going down hill rather rapidly.. thinking that the engine would hold me.
any additional info would be great..

I am not 100% sure bout this but i beleive that if you ask this question in the jeep section or on Ausjeepoffroad.com you will find that there is some sort of manual activation kit for your luck up system already available for the jeeps
But using the lockup is diffrent all together. What I did to yours Anthonyp was to remove the lockup all together and then start from there... ultimately making a much stronger foundation. If kits are used such as Rodney's that manually activates the lockup plate, it will not take very long for the material on the plate (kevlar composite) to wear off and start circulating around the box. This is a main cause of transmission failure. A lockup late is not the same as a clutch, most cases the friction material is on .5mm thick from factory and how long do you think that will last slowing a 2.5t truck down a hill?
