Parabolic Leaf Springs

Have searched and it appears there's many people who don't like 'em. - What Brand were they?
How good are the Don Kyatt Terrain Tamer Parabolics for LN65?

I don't know what brand mine are, but I replaced a pair of lifted Lovells springs and am happy with the result. The parabolics have better travel and ride better than the others. Mine are in a ln106 with a 2.8 diesel and steel bull bar. Have been told that parabolics work better with some weight on them, but that's only what I've been told.

not sure bout the landcruisers but i had a set in my old land rover series 3 and they aer well worth it. Especially if your springs are rooted and you have to get new springs anyway. ;)

I think I paid around $100 for a pair from a guy in Tassie, but I couldn't be sure.

I sold these to Phippsy, they are Carrolls brand. brand new price was quite reasonable, less than most multi leaf packs. sorry cant remember exactly, but did get better price thru local compnay advertising in tranding post than direct from carrolls. i found them to be quite good, liked ride on and off road, and load helper works real well. gives 3" lift (not sure if sagged much later tho"

only bad thing about parobolic is they don't flex as much as a conventanall leaf spring but normal leaf springs don't hold much wiegh i got a chev v6 in my 85 lux custom steel bar with high mount and and they were stuffed in 6 months normal leafs the wieght you put over them the better they flex front one for a hilux cost me about 400 new

I musta got one of the last of the Carolls- I was happy with mine. I paid $400 for front pair back in March I think. The ride was good, vast improvement over stock- and they don't sag. They flexed OK see pics below. As phippsy said they need weight on em- like diesel motor, bbar, winch etc.

I got the mod bug tho and went to different diffs with long IFS rears up front.

I'm selling mine with longer shockies (3 months use) for $200.

Oh- extended shackles helps them too- but I never had them.

What Dampers have you used with Parabolic Leaf Springs?

I'm currently considering the Doetsch Tech Prerunner.

from my experience they are quite a good spring in the front but dont even bother with them in the rear

I ran parabolics front and rear in my 4 runner for 4 months then removed the rears, the rears suck with all the weight of the 4 runner

i then ran mazda bravo rear springs with 2" blocks and parabolics front matched with 60 series landcruiser front shocks. This combination worked well.

Heres a pic, I hated all the work the old runner kept requiring but at least she wheeled :x
