changing gearbox fj40
am wondering if its possible to get rid of 4 speed fj40 gearbox and transfer and put in bundy g52 gearbox and transfer, has anyone done this, if not which gearbox is compatible. am running the stock 6 cylinder petrol motor any help is appreciated.
some of the bundy stuff is simply Hilux gear, like front diffs and gear boxes...check it out first.
There are 5 speed 40s and 60s that will fit but some have different input shafts. Also as the 5 speed is longer you will have to play with your shaft length and there may be a difference in the flanges depending on the year of your 40.
