turbo rodeo

Post by NICK »

im going to be turbo charging my rodeo, i looked at a v8 commodore conversion, supercharging etc but have decide to go with a turbo.

I bought a complete holden piazza turbo motor for 250 bucks, i dont plan on rebuilding it as i have only just done the 4ZE1 that i have now. I will how ever use the lower section of the sump, manifolds and cross over pipes as i have been told, and they look to be a direct bolt on.

The 4ZC1, piazza motor has higher compression and a 4 bolt bottom end but i think with the lower compression of the non turbo motor we should be sweet for about 10psi. I found it weird that the turbo has higher compression.

I have talked to matt, those in the car scene would know him as hypo10 or the green 10sec gemini. and he run a smiliar setup, bar the fact that his was of its head. He said the standard computer would regraph up to about 14psi but i may need to do something with the injectors.

No plans to intercool, just get it breathing good and make advances from there.

Hi Nick,

How is your turbo Rodeo going? Just had a thought and was considering doing the same thing.

What year is yours? I have read that you can only do this using the standard computer up to 10/92.

Would you mind telling me the things you had to do/buy to make it all work?

Might sway me one way or the other to hear your story.

Thanks.
