Nice work,I like the fact that this format should keep the scores nice and close,Make everyone really think about what they are driving.
And as for what POS said about a trial run, I think this would be a great idea to sort out any little bugs.
And just as a suggestion can we make the courses like super hard next year for the buggys anyway.(More big ledges to drop off and lots more huge side angles.)
Lets really put these buggy's to the test...

IMO

Yep,

Thats why a good weekend away, just wheeling hard and doing stuff that we think is undoable will give us all a very good idea of what these rigs can do!

Sorry we are busy that weekend ;)
we dont want everyone else knowing what a dirty old hilux is capable of, that is all secret squirrill stuff. :finger:

only kidding we are in, any wheelin is good wheelin, unless we are breakin stuff.

MMM what sort of changes to mod class ar you thinking of? IMO they are fairly good ATM. tyre limit is OK at max 37" especially with 37 mtr & creepy crawlers redily available to the public.tyre type is no real penalty as swampers perform similar to BFG krawlers anyway. I really think that the other mod truck guys just need to get out and give it a go, eg. rd1 this year Daves truck had nothing bar 37" tyres (and me spotting) and it did OK. Sic40 (pete) did well at rd2, but we just need more people to give it a go. maybe easy options on some of the gates to entice some entrants. But you know we are always keen to try and mix it with them damn buggies.

I'd also like to see rego dropped as a qualifier for Mod Truck. Maybe Full bodied trucks with tyre limit of 37's or similar. I think that with the buggies getting more and more capable, and so many rigs and drivers out there not quite up to the standards that the guys are driving now, it would be great to develop the second class as a lead in for outlaw class. Whether Mod truck or Outlaw, Ill be there next year anyway now I am starting to get the rig sorted. Had some good runs in it lately without breaking straight up and Im pretty happy with it.

sorry Pete you might have mis-understood my message, what i am trying to say is that i think the current rules (including reg required) are pretty good, and as we have shown there is no reason why a mod truck can't be competetive. We drive to (and from) every comp we can enter, which shows it can be done even with QLD reg rules! We are just luckier than most that we get to drive with the best rigs in the country.

i'd say you just have a better driver than most if you manage to drive to and from and still come close to beating the buggies!

Dont tell BeeBee that he might get a swell head>
As i said it has been great to have a bunch of guys willing to push the limits of the vehicles and the boundaries of the sport as friends, it doesn't matter who wins so long as its not those NSW guys
only kidding. If a pretty tuff crowd down here just to drive with the HTE crew is pretty special, as you know every time you go out a new level will be set. There are a few "big name" competitors which are going to have to pull out something special to keep up with Sam and the crew. With reliabiility sorted it is goin to be near impossible to split the all dominating HTE buggy's, especially with the ability of drivers like Ruff, POS and Rod Dirte, those guys are awesome to watch wheel when not competeing, no holds barred.
