Hi All,
Got a buddy who is looking at a 97 sierra coil sprung. Wants to go offroad but will use on road most of the time. Will be wheeling with larger 4bies running standardish gear, 31-33inch tyres.
Will the this little puppy be able to keep up ? What will we need to do to make sure it can ? Whats the best size tyres to fit ? not sure that they need to be monsters but maybe 31s would be good. Happy to body lift if required not sure of the cost and complication.
Cheers,
Brett

Buying a Zook ?
He will not only keep up but maybe overtake. it depends on the driver and conditions really.
31s will need a body lift and you may want to think about modifying gearing or adding some power as well.
I have 29 inch tyres on my coilly and whilst some people manage them with standard ratios and power I wont be doing it till I change my transfer case ratios. The cheapest way to do this is to fit a transfer case from a 1 litre sierra it will give 12 percend reduction in highrange and 30 something percent reduction in lowrange.
with 31 inch tyres your ramp over, approach and departure angles should be similar to a GU patrol with 4+ inches of lift. I havn't compared but with the 29s (1,1/2inches taller) My angles cream a GU with 2 inch lift.
