3" Exhaust on 4.2 GU patrol

Hi i'm wanting to put a 3" exhaust on my 4.2, however because it's still in the warrantly period has anyone done this? and will it affect the warranty at all.

I doubt it will and my dealer has suggested that the 4.2 would benefit from it but he didnt say that at all if you know what i mean.

but can't see the issue of changing the exhaust shouldnt effect anything it wouldnt over heat anything.

am thinking of going full 3" mandrel bend thinking of using sandy @aus4wd

does anyone else recommend anyone and what is a good price?

I just put a full 3inch mandrel on my old mans intercooled 4.2

made shitloads of difference i also put a diiferent dump pipe of the turbo ,its just a bigger 1 then the factory cast one, still cast tho

Ours went 2 the dealer the next day for its 1000km service and the dealer was impressed with the difference they didnt seem to care

if something did go wrong they would have a very hard time blaming the exhaust for engine failure

We got our from MQT or MTQ from Gunnedah field day $650 including new dump pipe i think will have to check with me old man

only took 2 hrs do do at home in the driveway with just as socket set

how loud was it?

i.e. can you hear the turbo spool up ?
overall did it drone much?

nah doesnt drone at all

but yes u can hear the turbo spool up and it does whistle a little more

but it doesnt give it a loud note

the muffler is a double offset 3inch

was heaps happy with the fit for a premade exhaust
