Vitara problem: is it a blown fuse?

Post by SiKiD_01 »

the instrument panel lights have gone out completely, and the digital clock i have is out as well, but the backlight is on.

this is at night with headlights on.

i have yet to check the fuse(s), as it happened tonight. will check tomorrow.

what else could it be?

the main problem is, i cant drive my car as i cant start it. reason being, that my "immobiliser" is switched off with my parking lights. and now theres no power to the instument panel, and i cant start my car.

if anyone knows why this happens, please let me know, as i dont really want this happening when i'm out in the middle of the bush.

thanks.
steve

its fixed. faulty/old wiring cased a short and blown fuse. had to take most of the dash off to get to the wiring.
