Vit SAS kit

Post by cj »

Looks like Trailtough has a Hilux coil SAS kit in the works for the Vitara according to a couple of posts on http://zukiworld.com/

" Call Brent at Trailtough, he has a kit almost done if not done for doing just that. It has everything you need to accomplish the Toykick SAS coil swap. He told me that there is minimal welding that needs to be done. The spring pads for the leaf springs that are on the stock Toy axles are the centering point for the control arm mounts on the axle. You bolt the mounts to the housing, then you weld them on. The rest is a bolt on to the truck. The kit comes with steering, shocks & mounts, brake hoses, I think it might even come with drivelines, not sure about that one, all the control arms & mounts, coils & buckets, might be more, can't remember right now it's been a while since that conversation came up. You'd have to call him on the price, keep in mind that it is a bolt on kit that is very complete. "

" I have seen Trailtoughs SAS Kick it is a sweet setup. It sit on 35s with no body lift and they can lift the rear tire 3ft off the ground. Also when the tire is stuffed in the wheel well there is an even 3/8 of and in between the tire and the fender all the wat around. Last time I talked with Brent they where in the process of blueprinting it. It looks pretty trick "

At least they haven't released a test rig like some one else, got every ones hopes with a review on a major zook site and then not told the potential buyers when the farking thing will be available !! :bad-words: You think they would at least have the decency to say weather they "will" or "will not" be releasing the kit for sale.

I hope T/Ts kit don't end up the same !

overkill, how cheap can you make the axel that you had on your buggy if you could suround a kit around that i'd buy it if it was a resonable price.

Matt

p.s. could you have a look at http://www.outerlimits4x4.com/PHP_Modul ... hp?t=25488 and tell me if you think you could make it?

The price of making the front diff I guess is the killer for doing the SAS conversion at tthe moment.
I am looking into a way to make the diff a lot cheaper. A Hilux diff is the next option but they aren't wide enough. Also the ratio isn'available in the yota range. The other option is to run lux diffs front and rear and just get some offset wheels.
Okay I will start people thinking what would they prefer coils or leaves.??

What you have drawn is possible but what are you planning to use as dampening when the air bag is deflated??

I know it would cost more but I wouldn't really be interested in SAS unless it was coils. I like my IFS and what I really want is a CV solution. Maybe something using Porsche 930 CV's and a slip spline in between  Now there's a product for Vitara owners.

Yeah due to the rim offset. Check out the vitara rear wheelbase with it's +ve offset rims.... the hilux has -ve offset.
