Tuff Truck 2005 - Congratulations

Post by TuffToy24D »

Well done Det and the rest for buying TTC and for bringing us another event we can attend.

You have stated your rules to enter and how selection is done, ignore all the wingers because if they knew how to run an event they would spend more time doing just that.

And for the wingers as to if this event is the Tuffest, it is just a name. Why don't you run an event set the rules to allow only 31" tyres, run it in Australia and call it The Worlds Biggest Baddest Meanest 4WD Challenge.

Shorty 40,

I think your views are clouded by PlanB and Pat Callinan.

I'm sick of people rubbishing events. From my quick read Tony and Sam did not complain.

So when are you organising an event?

I have only ever met Pat Callinan once :? And what has PlanB got to do with anything ?

I haven't rubbished anything :x Except you :finger: Please quote me ONCE where I rbbished this event - I friggin love Tuff truck ! And just for the record, look back a bit in the thread you will see I agreed with what Sam said.

Maybe you should have more than a 'quick read' There was some healthy debate/discussion about an upcoming event and you come in all of a sudden sucking up to "Det" and calling everyone whingers

You have got your wires crossed somewhere  :?

So at this stage I will stick by my original comment ..............

congrats to Det et al for kick starting this comp.

TuffToy24D, not sure who you are mate, but we're all just on here to talk shit and have a laugh. All these guys love the event so much that whenever someone farts tuff truck, they get on and have a whinge. we love it, it keeps us up at night, planning our next mods.

ive been involved in both previous events and like many others, i have my opinions, i reckon it could've been this or it could've been that, but at the end of the day, im just stoked that aus has an event (albeit just one) that all these nutters on this board, can build toward, throw money at and generally look forward too.

a lot of contenders for next years tuff truck contribute to this very forum.

i still reckon there should be more events for these guys, but who has the time, know how and money to kick one off.

congrats to the qld guys for giving it a go, i bet in a few years time their events will pull big crowds, sponsorship money and media and you can bet we will all be there to whinge some more,

thats just the nature of the beast.

so whats your story ?

Det,

For myself what makes TTC stand out from the other events is:

Heaps of camping on flat ground.
Events are close to each other so its easy to keep on eye on more than 1 event.
Most of the courses were spectator friendly (everyone could see most of the event)
The night event for spectators (last one did not go to plan though)
Excellent toilet facilities (showers were a bonus last time, pity)
Events within easy walking distance from campground
The courses were getting harder each year so I hope they are harder this year.

And I have nothing to do with Det, I have even had to make a descision about vehicle classing when he was putting his case forward, which he lost, however I am sure he will now know what organisers go through. You cannot please all competitors but if you keep the specators happy while at the event your more than half your problems go away.

SO why don't we suggest the positive things and hopefully they will remain.

Well....from *all* of us, thanks for the support :D
The last thing we want to see is everyone tearing strips off each other. The whole idea of Tuff Truck is for everyone to get in there enjoy themselves doing what they love to do most....and whilst there are going to be people disagreeing with each other, difference of opinion is what creates competition......couldn't run an event without could we? ;)
