Ramsey winch parts

Post by quick60 »

Does any one know where to get Ramsey winch parts in Sydney?
I need a new plug socket for a 12 year old 9000lb electric.
Thanks,
Damian.

don't know about getting them here, but Ramsey USA are very helpful and a phonecall or email will have one in the mail to you pretty good - their winches are ordinary but their customer service is excellent.

I am reasonably confident the old 4-pin warn winch controllers are the same, and last time I was at the auctions, they had dozens of 4 pin controllers lying around.

failing those options, I would ditch the plug and the socket and replace them with a 6 pin trailer plug and socket - under $20 from supercheap and an immediate solution. there's any number of different plug/sockey combos you could use.

alternatively, or in addition to any of the above, you could run some wires up into the cab to a rocker switch on the dash or even the door armrest so you can drive the winch from in the car. ten bucks for wire and a switch from dick smiths and an hour of mucking around.

as a last resort, I think I actually have one of those ramsey controllers, it was working when it was last used. I'll dig it up if you want it.

cheers

Thanks Brian, thought I might also go down to the boat shop and see what they have?
