i broke the handbrake

Post by Spartacus »

when i was trying to adjust the handbrake i snapped the part
with the thread that is attached to the handbrake

WHAT IS THIS PART CALLED????

it goes form the handbrake on the inside of the car thru a
dust cover an into the equaliser.

the manual states it as the park brake lever but it doesnt sound right.
it also says to be carful not to snap it. (i read it after i broke it)

i need the name so i can call the wreckers.

call them and tell them which bit it is, they will probably know it if it mentions on manual that they break easily. They probably sell a few.

Other point is they probably wont have it, or will only sell handbrake lever etc complete.

Cant help you for your specific vehicle application, but on some other trucks, this part is called an 'adjusting strut'
