Welding spring perches

Post by Rosey »

Hi Guys,

probably a stupid question, however, when you weld to your axle or diff housing, should you drain the diff oil first? Do you need to rinse with a solvent? Will the oil burn from the heat of the welding? I can imagine it to be a smoky task.

cheers

Just lift the end up so oil drains away.
If your fixing a crack wash crack with carby clean 1st.
Change oil after a good run to wash away any internal crud.
