i've got 2 sealed batteries each putting out 730 CCA. They seem to do the job very well.

and when you end up on your roof, no spilt battery acid.

They are also supposed to stand up to vibration a lot better.

Run an Optima as a dual battery in the rear seatwell to power the fridge, inverter and sundry stuff. First one failed just out of warranty. Replaced at a reasonable price. The jury is out on the second.

there are two or three models of optima, one for starting, one for fridges etc, forgot what the other is.

Procomp also have two models, i've heard made by the same company that do optima, a few mate have them as they are cheaper than optima and seem to work just as well.

I bought an Optima blue top about 4 years ago for my 240Z project car because it would be sitting for long periods without running. . . its been really good.

When I first tried to start the car (new engine/computer/injectors/everything) it took a loooooong time to get it running and that thing cranked it forever without slowing at all!

Im now going to start using it in the back of my Rodeo to power my engel and lights. It has 900cca and should do the job nicely

Long story short - I like em!

sealed is good as acid splashes about when offroad. that why both my batteries are sealed.

the best type are the exide optima marine batteries as they can last long periods sitting as boats do and have a high cranking power and also are decent deep cycle batteries. i have one in mine at the monent are a waiting for a mate to get me another. but its connected to my main battery which is has s few droped cells and it doesnt drag it down and its connect the hole time so it like my main battery till i get a spare
HZJ73, lifted, crawler gears, double locked, sitting on 35's
