roof/spare carrier/rack

Post by SiKiD_01 »

does anyone have any more ideas/links for roof carriers etc.

i'm looking at getting one made soon, so i can stop telling the cops my spare fell off, or it was stolen, or..... blah blah blah, u know what i mean.

so does anyone have a good idea/concept they aren't game enough to do?

i'm stuck for ideas, i have one idea, and thats the only one, but i dont know how it would look after it made and bolted on.

i'm also looking at getting a new top made up. i think people call it a fastback.

problem is, should i keep a 4 seater, or change to 2 seater mini ute.... or just drop the idea all together.

i'm thinking of making a twin jerry holder for the back door, one water, one fuel.

i'm not asking for approval or anything like that, just looking for more ideas, and all options before i commit.

thanks

Watch out how much weight you hang off your tailgate, ie tyre and fuel cans off sheet metal.

Sounds like its time for a tray back conversion?

my spare wieghs in at about 40kg. more or less??? (31" MT/R on steel rim)

2 jerry's at 25kg each when full? would that be too much on the tail gate?
i've seen a spare, AND a fuel jerry on a tailgate, not sure what they did.

i want to cut the back off like the Camo vitara with sas, but theres really no option up here for a good fabricator, or anyone with experience. well, that i know of anyway. love to do it my self, but how the it turns out, well, probably better off leaving as is.

i was thinking also the other day, would it be possible to make the rear tailgate a drop down one, like holden utes, hiluxes etc., instead of the swing out? i had a look, but seems as though theres a bit of work.
