G13B 96 Coily
G13B 96 Coily
Hi
I know this topic had been covered numerous times but i did a search and couldnt find answers to my questions
Iam after info regarding the g13b GTI conversion as iam looking into it for my 1996 coily sierra
does the gti engine use the same engine mounts?
is the standard radiator sufficient?
would i need to modify the sump?
I know the sierra gbox lines up but can i use my sierra clutch P/P or have to use the GTI Items?
also whats peoples opinions on the standard computer? is it any good i was maybe thinking of going microtech and going a DIS (distributerless Ignition)
that way i wouldnt need an angle drive to clear the firewall
i have also been told the coily sierra's use the same fuel tank as vitara
which means i would be able to use a vitara fuel pump is this correct?

rbzook & 85zook honestly did you even read the post?
if so please point out were i asked for opinions on the sierra?
all i asked for was some info on the gti conversion?
as in my experience the only weak link i have had with my coily is the engine been through 2 in 16,000 Klms
anyways back to the topic
anyone with any experience with these engines care to share any info?

Yes we obviously did read the post as RBzook said:
sell it before you realise they are weak.
buy a leafy and put the donk in that
And I agreed with him and said:
I agree. Go the Leafy!
We were ony ystating that the coily's suspension set up is weak and the preferable option would be to put the G13B in a leafy as they are a better setup in the bush. Not a good way to start on the forum buddy!

Great link How much did the front cut cost and wtf is a cultus
Be sure to document your install here so we can all.... um...... see it
$1400 for cultus front cut done 33,000 Klms
Cultus G13B
better cams
extractors
better inlet manifold
higher compression 11:1 aus gti 10:1
more powerful engine
there were swifts and baleno's under the cultus name but the
gti version was the only one with the G13B DOHC Engine
the swift versions (Suzuki Cultus) were fwd and 4wd
had the G10 and the G13B DOHC
the baleno versions (Suzuki Cultus Crescent)
had the G13B SOHC, G15A, G16B and the J18A
i will be documenting the install as well as taking many photos

Does the vitara pump work alright even if the pumps arent the same??
Im gonna do the same soon with my coiler. I run a GTi in my SJ410, which is not far off being retired. Have not broken anything drive train wise in the 410 and it gets a very hard time.
I dont see why people think the GTi is not suited to offroad, Ive never had a problem with the torque (or supposed lack of), thats on both club trips and trialling it .
