Marks 4wd Adaptor

Post by MKPatrolGuy »

I have a broken 5 speed in my MK at them moment (Refer Nissan section) and I am trying to work out what gearbox I have before I pull it out (Waiting for Dad's car to get out of the garage, cracked head :? ) I was told it is a Cabstar truck 5 speed by the previous owner.

It has a Marks Adaptor between the gearbox and t/case, with MFC100 cast into it. I was wondering if anyone on here would know what this adaptor is for, and hence what gearbox I have.

I tried ringing Marks a couple of times today, but the phone was always engaged and when I did get through they were closed

Thanks

If you ring marks with that number they should be able to tell you what box that adapter plate was made for. Is the gearbox an aluminium cast from marks as well?
I have 2 marks 5 speed cabstar (Cabul) gear boxes to suit a G60. I think they made a similar one for the MK. Could you let me know either way how you go, cheers.

Thanks guys, I ended up Emailing Marks and then ringing when I didn't get a response (Email response actually came today :D ) And it turns out the gearbox is out of a Caball or Cabstar. Mark said it sounds like the input shaft is cactus, which is a factory part. Hope it isn't one of the parts Marks made because they don't make them any more.
