low mounts and winch rope?
i'm thinking of getting winch rope for my low mount, what would be the best type?
My brother sells a synthetic rope at his workshop which the manufacturers claim will tolerate and not breakdown due to the heat generated by a low mount. Birdy and us both use it on our trucks but we have high mounts (wasnt used at the Alpine, the reason i say this is because we snapped our rope twice, plasma ). Call him if you want more info. 9331 6536 ask for Andrew.
Joe.

PLASMA

plasma 12 strand is a good type of rope
the whole warn thing about the winch overheating was based on the scenario of the vehicle being lowered backwards down a hill bit by bit by letting the winch out (similar to abseiling) and how many times do you do that???
