Just wanna know whether the 80 series GXL steelies are 16 x 8 ..........??????



Someone mentioned to me that they were only 7" wide just want to clarify b4 tryin to find a set at a reasonable price ......

Std GXL are 16x8...good luck finding any at a descent price...cheaper to buy mags usually.

i priced them 6 months ago from toyota at about
$300 each. total rip off. i've never seen them in
the trading post for under $600. but i dont buy it
that regularly.

And if you're planning on using them for off road at low pressure then get sum sunraisara's as the outer bead on the GXL rim is crap and you'll be forever re beading tyres.
Getting them will be a hard job. The best person to get some from is some bloke that is updating from 80 to 100 that had a set up 80 with 2 sets of rims and has already sold/traded the 80. That is if there are any left.
80 series, Locked both ends, Q78ed & a massive 57 k/w to boot!!!!

we have 2 full sets for our 80... they are hard to track down, and to get at a good price, wreckers quoted us 220 each...

then one day a silly man sold us 4 for 100 bucks outa the paper, didnt realise, thought they were just sunraisyas..u can get lucky if u keep your eye out!

speaking of the outer beads, we had one crack all the way round the bead weld goin across the simpson.. went flat tubeless, welded it up ourselfs and run it tubeless as the 8th rim in the set, will never see use again i dout it.. dont know if this is common, but sure could be dangerous!!
