Got my manual hubs :-)

Post by revnkev »

Well I finally got me some Aisin manual hubs :)
Picked up a set for $110 off a 96 Triton,(less than half the price of AVM ones!!!)
from the first 4wd wrecker that I rang, the second one wanted $150 :?
For those in the Sydney area that are interested :-

East Coast 4WD
6 Pat Devlin Close
Chipping Norton
NSW 2170
Ph. 02 96021502

I forgot to ask how many more they had .
They also import a lot of 2nd hand 4wd stuff direct from Japan :!:
Swapping the hubs must be one of the easiest mods to do ,
just got to remember to lock em in when deflating the tyres :)

Good stuff Kev, now you will have extra flexibility and have low range driving the rear wheels only. And if your unlucky enough to break a CV you can disconnect it.
Remember not to drive with 4x4 (centre diff unlocked) with the hubs unlocked as it feels like a slipping clutch and can't be doing the t/case much good.
I wreckon this is a very good upgrade for a Gen 2 Paj especially as the Triton Aisin hubs fit perfectly and are cheaper than the crappy AVM ones :D
I payed $150 for mine and they worked perfectly, now Noisey has them with the Detroit on his shorty.
I just luv my "clacker Jabber"

the hubs sound like a good idea will they fit into a 93 NH auto lwb pajero?
as its a slug going up hills and the idea of just haveing the rear wheels driving on road sounds better..............plus the wrecker is not far from me

G'day Locknut,
the Aisin hubs should fit your's as Frank has posted in previous
threads that the early model Pajero diesel's (base model) came
out with them.
Mine just happened to be from a 96 Triton so they're newer than
the Paj :)
