Mav SWB Rear folding seat
Mav SWB Rear folding seat
This is probably a dumb question, but anyway...
When I fold up the rear seat of my Maverick SWB, it has this tendency to FALL VIOLENTLY BACK DOWN.
There must be some method that is supposed to latch it but it's not obvious to me what it is, or if I've got something missing or whatever. What's meant to hold it in place when it's folded fully forward?

I have this exact problem in my Patrol, it has resulted in totally destroying a storage box I had in the back when I hit some bumps after coming down a sand dune...thank god the dog wasn't in there!!
The only thing I can see to hold it up, is by looping the straps that are on the bottom rear of the seat over the head rests of the front seats, I cant see how this is how it is supposed to be, if so, then it is a pretty crappy design!!!

anyways my olds bought a few GQ's newski and yup the almost toyota like method of tieing those straps from the rear seats (SWB) around the headrest is how the bling blings designed it!!! Russell hey??

I find it incredible that this is the proper method... geez. That sucks.
Might have to do some chimp engineering!

hmm I replaced my MU with the Mav partly because I was sick of only having two seats... the one time you want four is enough to drive you nuts.
But I'd like to be able to fold them up without having them slam down on whatever I've got in the back, so I'll figure something out. Anyone got suggestions?

what using the straps to tie it round the head rest?? It works - thats all it does.. it aint pretty, but yea, practical. Mine were like that for 3 mths never moved an inch. Just sucks ass if you want to move the seat forward or back.
