Grimbo, I think you should change your location to "trying to get my suzuki out of someone else's workshop in melbourne"

I get the car back tomorrow from James and will do the lights, mudflaps and probably a quick paint of the flares. Then just have to wait for the rwc to have space and its back to him for the certificate

part of the newy conspiracy...
I got it going on the weekend. Need a new starter motor too, but it can wait I have a large metal whacking instrument that seems to click it over fine Needs two new batteries too, who would have thought sitting for 12 months doing nothing would wreck them
Moved it into the backyard from the shed so i have to get it out of there soon. Just trying to coordinate with myself and the workshop
Here are a couple of pics
half doors already to go
bloody starter motor completely died on saturday. Got a new battery and it wouldn't do anything. Then of course being an imported 5K engine none of the local auto elcs had a suitable starter motor on their books. So hpefully tommorrow I will get a new starter motor
imported crap. Been an absolute nightmare trying to get a starter motor for the 5K. The on on their appears to have been a Sigma one on a 5K mount which is strnage as it was one I bought at a small auto electricians place in the country. Looks like I've got the right one did a sort of test fit last night in the dark on the back lawn with my bloody dogs deciding it would be a good time to learn how to fix a car and join me under the Zuk
Of course I have now discovered I have a major electrical drain somewhere as the battery is completely flat
Hey grimbo, just a question about your half doors.
It looks like you followed the contour of the door when you cut, i was looking at my doors and it appears that it would foul the latching mechanism. Have you got any pics of the doors without the capping on it, and also from the inside?

Thanks
If you look at the latch assembly you will see that it works on a short rod that connects from the door handle to the door latch assembly. I have removed the door handle obviously so to open the doors I just push down on the lever that was attached to the handle. Simple albeit a little booty fab. I'll try and take a pic on the weekend
got the starter motor without the dogs help. Recharged the battery and…
it started first turn of the key, hasn't done that in a loooooooooong while. Just need to sort out the massive electrical drain. Tending towards the 2nd battery being dead and it just drawing electricity from the first. Might just disconnect the 2nd battery from the solenoid and try and bridge the accessories to the first for the time being. Worded the RWC guy up so will have it to him this week
