How do you tell the difference between the 2? Any ideas on what years they came out?

not sure but would think that the newer 4.6 would be marked in some way as they would like people to know :roll:

some of the old ones had no free spool for industrial style work but look very similar otherwise. also the plugs are different. i think they have 3 pins and the new ones have 5 roughly
