Rear Main on a 22r
How bad of a job is it to replace.I just put in a new motor and it appears to be leaking in the one place i forgot about.Does the motor and box have to come out again . What a pita that was.I dont think i can split the box offf the mote whilst in the car. Its a 90 runner. Help me As im scared.
yeh they is a pain but you can if u have to just drop the box and do it all from underneath, but its usually best to pull the motor as when the seals go they tend to score the crank and it needs to be sleeved so it doesnt chew out the new seal....sorry for the doom and gloom but this is why i hate my 22r....stopgap is run 60 grade oil and change every 5000 so it doesnt get too thin
thanx guys .Seems to the opinion of box can seperate from the engine. At first galnce it seems near impossible to get to all the bell housing bolts. I will just have to find the way that works. No real drama except I JUST PUT THE NEW BLOODY MOTOR BACK IN(left box attached)!!! . Oh well life is fun isn't it
