auto question

Post by bogged »

When drivin along this morning I bumped the gear lever, and shifted to N. I shit hot coals and smashed it back to 2nd! lucky had only just taken off from lights.. Would be expensive if you hit Reverse by accident.

What is it that needs adjusting to stop it coming out of Drive into N or REVERSE!

Is it an easy adjustment?

There is nothing to prevent you from popping into neutral, nor need there be.
In search of an MQ (offset) H233b rear, housing only preferred, plus a complete GQ or GU front (4.6 ratio ideal) to be shipped to the US. Cheap! Email/PM if you can help.

install a ratchet shifter system

they have a neutral and reverse lockout (operated with a button)

Being my first auto, I thought that you would need to press the button to move between gears?

... so there would be from D - N - R? cause that could get expensive...

you should have to press the button to go from n to r. not to go r to n to d

Most auto's that I have driven have a lockout on -(assuming P-N-D-2-1)
P - R
N - R
2 - 1

Where as you can go from
D - 2
1 - 2
2 - D
D - N
Without the button being pushed.

The idea is by not pressing the button from drive to neutral it wont go all the way into reverse unless you pressed the button while shifting.
