chemiweld doesnt really work on radiators only on heads and weld plugs etc.
I think kneed it or radiator putty is about all that definatly works

good coolants generally have a penetrating effect and can cause leaks, i used a stop leak not that long ago and it worked. Had heaps of chunky bits in the bottle, just go to as place like repco or burson's & pick one off the shelf

I have heard about the pepper or egg white trick, have never known anyone that has tried it. Last resort hey.
As for the Chemiweld i looked at that but as said its more suited to block & head cracks etc.
Big Red Toy, i was looking for the one you mentioned with the round pellets floating in side......any idea what it was called ?

Spit my last breath
Bars leaks is an excellent product, in my opinion. It did a repair job on a leaking welsh plug whilst on a trip, and stayed fixed till I did a real repair about 6 months later. Funnily enough, when you open it, it looks like pellets of ground pepper and egg white. I think it does affect temp senders, ect, as mine under reads the temp, as I still havent cleaned it yet. Be warned, that it will clog leaks, and also radiator cores.
As for using pepper and egg white, I have done that. A few years ago while doing duty at a driver reviver in country queensland, we had a Commodore ute limp in. A rock or something had been thrown up by a passing truck, and holed his radiator. We fixed it by pilling the radiator, cutting and folding back the affected core, then refilling and putting in a generous serve of pepper and 2 egg whites. We had about 20 people watching bush mechanics in action.
Next day he passed back through, and stopped to tell us that it worked ok. I think he ran with the cap on the first notch for a while, but at least he was mobile again.

Mud makes excellent toothpaste.
I would only use an Egg white in absolute despiration. Have any of you guys used this and then had to carry out repairs on the cooling system afterwards. Its not a great smell.
I always use Saxa Fine White Pepper. Have used it 10 or more times with great results. The small shaker is the perfect size. Just pour it all in and it will seal any external hole.It just coagulates as it passes through the hole.
Not much apart from Chemi Weld will fix a leak that is also effected by compresion(headgaskit or block)
I ran chemi weld in my VL for over 2 years to seal a headgaskit i couldnt be bothered fixing

A couple of weeks ago I discovered a leak in my old Cruiser's radiator I can't remember the name of the stuff I used but it comes in a clear plastic bottle & the solid part of the solution is a coppery colour. It seems to be available everywhere & it certainly stopped the leak although I did follow the instruction to the letter. From memory the active ingredient was some kind of silicate.

It's called seal-up and beats chemi weld hands down, I have used it as a permanent fix on my zooks blown headgasket as well as a 3y and countless Falcons

A mechanic i was talking to said he didn't like this one because its oil based & hard to remove from the system later.

Your assuming the leak was through the bearing seal hole ???
