:D hope fully someone on 2nite can help i need to know how i work how long my shocks should be the ones in at the moment are475mm resting so how long would they need to be to give enough travel theone in now are fully extented its a mq so leaf and have 2 inch over springs and 2inch extended shackles thanx in advance going 2morrow to get some and want 2 get it right they are 4 the front also

The best and easiest way is to pull the shock off and go and Flex it up. Max it out and then measure the distance between the two mounting points!

Thats the easiest and most accurate way!

It will also show you whether or not anything else is restricting travel eg. brake lines!

Leaf. Just disconnect bottom mount on shocks, jack up chassis so wheels off ground, and susp fully drooped on shackles.
Measure length from top mouning point of shock to where bottom one would be if mounted. Add about 20 to 30mm.
Also bump stops might need to be legthened to prevent shocks bottoming out under full compession of springs.

Good luck with your longer front shackles. I hate that idea esp on front of MQs. Ensure chassis braced around front mounts as they crack easily.

rather get them too long and incline them if you are planning further mods to save spending the money twice
