Does anyone know if an air flow meter off of another vehicle will fit a
87 EFI Range rover I seem to recall reading somewhere that falcon and BMW among others would fit but I don't know what models would anyone of you guys out there know. It would be much appreciated.

I know some jaguar ones will fit - the AFM is bigger bore so better airflow. The ECU and other parts are even interchangable aparrently.

The system is L-jetronic, so any car running Lucas / Bosch L-jetronic should be able to donate it's parts. Jaguar injectors are used as an upgrade too.

From memory there was something on the Range Rover and Discovery Forum regarding using SAAB units. You can ask there for someone to Tonka the info, as a few guys keep an archive.

Cheers,

Luke

See HSVRangie's post below, that was the post I was referring to.

When surfing the other night looking for Lucas 14CU Air flow meters, and found that the 900 serie SAAB uses the same EFI systems, did a ring around and bought a
Lucas 5AM from a SAAB wreckers, $110 some what cheaper the the Rangie Wreckers who want $450, and also you can re chip the ECU, found a site that sell eprom chips, to increase the performance and fuel economy. They use the Lucas 14CU in Morgans.

European Car Wrecker 5 Bennet St Dandenong Vic, I not sure if he had another, but the SAAB wreckers in Braeside had a few but wanted $220

The one i got was from a 89 saab 900, Lucas 5AM. only difference was the inlet housing which on the saab has a mesh cover and clips to hold it directly onto the air cleaner, the inlet is easily swapped and is same diameter.

From another site.
