Injected 2.6 petrol ecomomy figures
I am contemplating putting a magna fuel injection set up in my NA pajero but I would love to know if the economy and performance returned is worth the effort. Is there anyone out there who has done this conversion who could answer this question?
I put magna fuel inj on my old 2wd Triton 2.6 and could get around 450 to 500 ks out of around 60 ltrs.... ( i drove it pretty hard all the time)
It wasnt that much better than carby.. but it had a shit load more torque and a bit more power.. it was worth it but there is a few small things to get round if u r going to do this urself.

The throttle body has to be moved from on end of the intake to the other, it would also be a good idea to move the t stat housing to the other end as well, but u can get away with it where it is (just a pain to get to)...
I didnt use a surge tank, i got the fuel pump off a VL commodore and used that.. (external type) havent had a problem with it and it has been goin for 2 years.
I paid $400 for the computer, intake manifold, injectors, etc.
Cost bout $100 for fuel pump (new)..
Lots of other little things that came up..
Rewired the loom myself, so that cost me nothing.
Got a machine shop to move the throttle body for me..
Thats about all i can think of at the moment.
I will post some pics of the intake manifold for u later..
Cheers Ray

A couple more questions
With the electric fuel pump did you have to plumb a return line back into the fuel tank? Did use use the existing fuel lines with the VL fuel plumbed directly into it?
The Paj should aready have a return line on it.. The carbys use a return line as well..
I used all exsisting fuel lines..
I'm still trying to get some pic's 4 ya too..
