Post by Black_TJ »

Ok I can't seem to get my zook to idle bellow 1100RMP. When i fire her up she idles at about 500RPM which i class as normal. As soon as she heats up the idle won't drop bellow 1100RPM Played with the idel adjustment....doen't seem to make any difference???

there is two idle adjusts on some zook carbs...one is hard to get at, way below the other..it has something to do with idle up control etc...worth a look, mine needed adjustment in both places....probably wise to check out a working carb, in case something is plumbed wrong...leaking gaskets maybe the prob, they can leak more when hot, upsetting mixture???? I only guessing now...christover

you should be able to tension the cable where it attches to the carby.

it will idle faster with more air. if the air being sucked in has more resistance, then the engine will idle slower. pull out the air filter and it will run faster so maybe check the air box that its tight?? or any holes in it? not sealing properly?
