Hilux 2.8 Can anyone help Engine get distinct rattle or knock sound slike top end



Only does it when under load have checked bottom end seems to be ok not sure where to go next.[/list][/code][/quote]

Try undoing the injector fuel lines one at a time with the engine running and see if the knock goes away or lessens. If it does you may have an injector that is giving too much fuel to the motor. Get your injectors serviced and it should fix your probs :?:

how did you check the bottom end? unless you've plastigauged the big ends (and possibly mains but this is less likely to be a problem) I would suspect the big ends. they are under designed for the motor and 3L's are famous for big end damage. does it rattle when you cold start it? does the rattle get worse with load and with increased RPM?
