Gq/mq difference

Post by Lawrence »

Gq utes are listed at 73" tall and mq/mk at 74.6". If they use the same body parts, what is the difference? Also could anybody give me the distance from the ground to the top of the bed (load lift height) and the front fender height (near the lights) or seat height. Saw a nissan pickup (around 92) and the rear was higher. Dont think it was lifted.
89 gq dx. bone stock --- for now.

if its an SWB, the MQ/MK hieght will be in the canopy......
If not then there are 2 main differences.

GQ's sit a touch higher in the springs
also
Gq's body mounts have far larger rubbers than sag and bend bolts over time. There would be an Inch there possibly from new...

How about the front of the actual body can you interchange the headlights as i have two bodies both are GQ's one is a ute body other is a swb and the headlights won't interchange? does the ute GQ use MQ headlights?

The headlight mounts are in a different spot on GQ's to allow for the corner indicators on the GQ's rather than the side mounted and bottom front bar ones on the MQ.
The headlights themselves are the same, its just the mounting thats different.
all the panels will bolt up, the headlight mounts will need to be modded.
