3.5 rangie gutless????
Do you think a 2.8l diesel slugbox is anymore powerful?? Those things have no grunt at all!
Either rangie / patrol. Dont even consider a hilux.
sounds good mate, the engine conversion is valuable, but harder to work on than an old 3.5.
Seems to have a few extras as well, all good
Take it for a spin, the price seems good and it is only 15min from my house, i might go have a look too
lol and to neone else, i saw it first and get firast dibbs, man, i'm getting bloody exitied, if i get a shiver down my spine when i look at the car then look at the price, does thatmean i'm in love??
Looks good, Disco engine is a big plus - your first job is to hunt
down some cheap shocks and flog thos bilstiens - they are 2" shorter
in travel than any equivalent shock - cause of their gas resevoir.
But that would all be ahead of you - EFI is definately the way to go and they are a good engine to work on
yeahsweet, i'lll show me old man when he gets home hopefully go and look at it on saturday, man i hope its not sold, but yeah the guys at 4x4 connections were talking bout EFS and he reckons they're awsome, and the good thing of 2 weeks work placement, they an't getting ascrap of $ from me for labour, they taught me how to do everything.........suckers
fish_man wrote:apperently its a 4L with 3.5L injecters on it, if that makes sence
IIRC the injectors are the same anyway - shouldn't matter, check to see if it has 3.9 written on the plenium and has a solid fuel rail that go down to the top of the injectors - if it has 3.5L rail setup it will have small fuel line connecting to the top of each injector with a hose clamp.
Look at what air flow meter it has - should be a lucas 3AM or 5AM
(may have hitachi written on it) make sure it doesn't have a huge old vane flap style meter
fish_man wrote:kool thanks ragin, will do, also Y don't i want the huge old vane flap style meter on the engine?
Because
I would have difficulty believing that they put the 3.9L top end on it and reto-fitted the 3.5L EFI system to it. The hotwire EFI is much better than the Flapper system - they are also easier to fit gas to. The 3.5L injection is in-efficient and they Air Flow Meters don't take kindly to back fires.
oh man i wanna, but havn't seen the inside or driven the car yet, hopefully we are going down on sunday afternoon, i have to convince my dad, cause i an't riding my bike therre
