F100 Rims - Which offset?

Hey,

Im getting some 16x7 or 16x8 F100 rims to fit the 33x10.5 tyres I have. They are the 285/7... type but measure to 32x10.5 but are the equivalent to 33", that doesnt matter. Which will make it easier to run the tyres, i.e. least rubbing. Also which offset do I want? The dude at the shop said they come in 2 different offsets and you can just choose, same price. Im guessing one will make the tyres sit in and hence hit the springs and the other will make them stick out and hit the bar at the front where the bumper connects. I don't really want the tyres sticking way out but not way in either, just so it looks right. What is the best rim width / offset combination?

31s fit with 15x8 with 0 offset and dont rub on the springs. I have 32" Mongrels on 15x8 rims with -25 offset and they dont rub. I'm not sure about 7 inch rims though. The metric tyre (285/75R16) should be a little narrower (11.2") than a 33x12.5 so that will help out. I am guessing that the tyre will be pretty close to hitting the springs with a 8" -25 offset. If you have side lugs then it probably will hit. Is there any chance you can get a couple of different rims and try them out???

I can't really try any, I have only found one second hand set and I am ringing the guy back today, they are 16x7, not sure on the offset. If I get new ones I can't try them either. I am just trying to work out what I should be looking for and if I get new ones, what I should order.

What effect will the narrower rim have (7" vs 8") ? Will it make the tyre narrower and less likely to rub or more likely or no difference?

i have 31's on neutral 7's and don't hit the springs

depends on the off-set a bit... narrow rim makes it skinnier but taller so a greater scrub radius (I think that's the term) so I would think more likely to scrub at any given off set.

So maybe the 8" rims would be better. I think 33" is enough, don't want ot any taller than that. What about visually though. I want them to look as small as possible, so if they are bulging off a 7" rims that may look as though the tyres are bigger than if they sit straighet with the 8" rim. Not sure.

I think an 8 is the go 33 or similar is heaps on zook axles

31 inch on 15 x 8 inch rims with no more than three and a half inches poking in f truck rims usually come with bigger stud holes and u have to make sure that they dont come loose as for a wider tyre stick to seven inch rims as they are usually only three inches in and four out if you want advice on f truck rims lurch spares at lemon tree passage is a specialist but if you have problems still you can get custom offset rims made to suit
