Wack it in the front. As you already have a half arsed traction aid in the back. know of a GQ and a GU ute with these setups and they seem quite happy, for now.

I agree, wack it in the front. I put my air locker in the front because my rear lsd is tight as all fark and im really happy with the way it is. The only real problem is that when its engaged, it kills your turning circle, so when i'm cruising through carparks looking cool i make sure my lockers off :D

Funny.. Was just tonight talking to bazzle over a bottle of port tonight, and we discussed this.

his old school thought was front.. but now he says after more yrs of trial and error, to put it in the rear. More chance of pushing up hill, better chance of keeping the steering going..

One thing I notice lots watching vids and shit of comps, that when both fronts are spinning on a front lockered car on any sort of off camber, the car always goes sideways, that would suck ass on a greasy hill with a 400ft drop on one side.. but with a single spinner it doesnt happen, you would keep steering, and the rear locker would push you up..

could be wrong, wouldnt be the first time

Put it in the front....

If you were dumb enough to try said hill with 400 ft drop you'd better buy a parachute instead of a locker.

I kinda agree there.

As it makes sense about the front sliding when the lockers engaged on an off camber situation. Guess its matter of turning the front off and leavin the rear locker engaged to do the job on a situation like this :?:

Im in process of installin a front atm, coz ive been in positions where the rears going hard (2.8 LSD) and the front is only spinnin in one wheel. I'll give it a go like bazzle said,, its trial and error, Going to put a rear locker in one day as soon as more moolah comes my way.

Nope they are different. Due to the front being high pinion.

Front is RD09
Rear is RD17

please read the polciy disclosure statement. Ie look it up on www.arb.com.au you slacker. It's not like your busy. Also this is only for GQ's.

Can't see how high or low pinion itself would affect locker application, but it's certainly possible that something else about the housing that does matter could have been spec'd differently when the HP housing was designed.
In search of an MQ (offset) H233b rear, housing only preferred, plus a complete GQ or GU front (4.6 ratio ideal) to be shipped to the US. Cheap! Email/PM if you can help.

If you had a stuffed LSD or no LSD you would have to go rear first. If your LSD is good front first to be sure. But yeah you want both long term.

I think that If u have a TIGHT LSD in the rear then Go a front locker First.
But if ur rear is open,
but a Locker in the rear first :D
