Wizard Quick disconnects.

Post by ludacris »

The bolt on the Quick disconnect is bigger than the hole on the swaybar. Did any body find that this was the same and did you drill a bigger hole on the swaybar or get smaller bolts. Cheers.

biggest waste of money i recon. they are ok on dead level ground without a trace of sand, heaven forbid mud.

they jam up and require a belting with a hammer and twisting with vice grips to remove. then the pins won't go in again, so you need to clean the hole perfectly. i ground a taper on the end and its heaps better but it is still a 20 min job. they also click all the time, and they don't line up all that well as the ends are too big.

in case you keep them

i used a sharpened masonary bit to drill the swaybars.

cheers bru

I agree with bru21 for sure. I got em on my truck and the first time I had to use em I chucked the rear sway bar all together.

I still use the front one but there is no way that I would actually buy them. It would only be marginally quicker than just unbolting the normal mount (or extended one in the case of a lifted truck) as you still have to take the sway bar off anyway. I don't like the idea of leaving em hanging.

u can use a jocky strap to hold the bar up but i had the same problem with the pin`s pain in the ass as you get mud and sh*t all over ya tryin to get the dam pins in.
So your better off without them
its just to much effort

I have recently just had my swaybar linkages extended 3"s to match the lift. The other day went up Rocky Tk in Toolangi with no probs what so ever. If the linkages are of the correct length it seems you still get great flex out of the suspension.

Hey mate,

Did you find with the extra flex that the brake lines were long enough, or have you already extended them? i've already extended the diff breathers with the 3 inch lift, but noticed the swaybar linkages holding it back...Thought about extending them but wondered about brake lines.

Cheers.

Haven't had a prob with the brake lines. Just the rear diff breather hose needed extending. Have had both front and rear at full flex numerous times and haven't had any pobs.

I had mine done at Procomp in Narre Warrin. Cost $100. Before I had them extended there was bugger all drop. Now it seems to be working well.

i was thinking of using turnbuckles with the left and right hand threads. then just put wings on the lock nuts. the advantage of this to is they would be quiet, adjustable, and when they are off only the short bolts remain. cost under $20 a corner in stainless.
