advice on 33x12,5x15 or 33x10,5x15
advice on 33x12,5x15 or 33x10,5x15
I got a lot of advice on tires sizes. I have a stock patrol lwb 2.8td 1991. I.ve been told its better that i got 33x10,5x15 because the wider tires have tendecy the break suspension. But then again I see all of members are going for 3x12,5x15 tires. Dont know what to do?
Plz advise

your biggest problem will be spinning the tires.. 2.8's arent known for large amounts of power.
10's and 12.5s are different for hard or soft ground.. both have + and -
10's will have less on the ground so easier to spin... I'd look at 32x11.5s with a 2.8

I just came back from Croatia, had some lazy holiday on the island of Pasman
, and wheeling there can be great ! You just have to watch for mines in some areas, but most of it is already cleared now. There are a lot of rocky trails. I love it, and it's only a 8 hrs. drive from where I live
BTW, I run my RD28T (1991 MQ, 260 LWB) on 255/85-16's with Toyota 0mm offset steel rims and the size fits the Patrol perfectly. The lack of power is not that bad and somehow the gearing now seems to just fit.
The 255/85-16 Cooper S/T's are 33,21" in diameter.

Since my 260 has leafys it was very easy. I got the leaf packs re-arched and one extra leaf added into each pack. That results in ~10cm of lift and feels perfect with the new shocks (Trailmaster Gas, european made not the US parts). If you need parts let me know.
