FRONT DIFF LOCKS - PAJERO/TRITON

G'day Pete, yeah I still haven't got mine yet as Andrew is having trouble with his machinist. He has 30 units half complete, he's trying to hand finish my one before the Paj Club Challenge but it's not looking good.
I spoke to him like you said but his hands are tied he says.

I have asked this once... and because I am a repetitive bastard I will ask it again.
Why are detroit.
If you can machine a detroit to fit a front v6 diff... then why cant you machine another type of locker to fit that same diff.
They have to hold the carrier bearings the same... they have to fit the houing the same... same axle shafts... same ring gear.
So why cant you machine a ARB instead of a detroit???

Yes I spoke to my contact at ARB the other day about the front airlockers and thats exactly what they are trying to do after I told them the rear 2.6 locker will fit into the V6 front with minor work.
This will save them heaps in development costs, they were also looking at other IFS lockers to see if they could be modified also to fit.
The 2.6 will be the best bet for sure.
Expect a major announcement very soon.........................
With the Detroit lockers, Andrew uses a Ford 9" Detroit casing and machines that down to fit the 8" V6 front diff. He said Detroit used to supply about 12 standard casing sizes one of which was a direct bolt in for the V6. Detroit now only supply 5 or so standard casing sizes and he says the Ford 9" is now the closest size.

Hi guys im a new starter to the 4x4 scene and i picked up a mj triton as my first 4x4 as far as i know its all standard and i am thinking about putting some diff lockers in to get more ability off road.
Any advice will be much appreciated as i dont know much about where to start or what is good value for money.
